Through the Natural Resources Sector (NRS) we aim to bring together the different perspectives and sometimes competing interests of government, business and communities, to build a coherent and integrated approach.
This informs our integrated advice to Ministers and our operational activity.
A governance approach is in place to help the NRS deliver its goal. This involves three different groups who are outlined below.
|Business Growth Agenda Building Natural Resources Ministers’ Group||Governs Business Growth Agenda Building Natural Resources Worksteam|
|Natural Resources Sector Leadership Board (Chief Executives)||Provides collective and strategic leadership of priorities and progress to NRS goal, looking beyond current horizon to 2030|
|Natural Resources Sector Programme Governance Group||Drives achievement of the six focus areas and cross-cutting themes|
Two further groups are led by the NRS in partnership with regional councils and Business New Zealand. These are outlined below.
|Chief Executives Environment and Economy Forum||Government and regional council chief executives’ forum to facilitate effective management of natural resources|
|Natural Resources Senior Executives Group||Government and Business New Zealand forum to improve partnerships in natural resource management|
For further information on any of these groups, please contact the Natural Resources Sector Support Unit.
